Weekend Retreat

This weekend our Young Adult Church Group went to Donnelly, Idaho and stayed in a cabin for some much needed rest and fellowship. We were so lucky to have Mark Russell from our church come up for the weekend and share some of his thoughts on finding balance in your life and how to live a life closer to God. Here are some pictures from our fun weekend.

My favorite part of Mark's message from this weekend:

*It is important to define the Priorities of your life and have Sustainability in your life*

Mark shared his 5 priorities that he and his family live by. He said if an opportunity arises that doesn't fit into one of these five categories, then they don't feel any pressure to make time for it. I love this philosophy and I love his 5 priorities... they all start with "f" which makes them easy to remember :)
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Finances
4. Fitness
5. Fun

Mark also talked a lot about having sustainability in your life and how you must embrace all four of these aspects:
1. Yourself- help yourself first so that you are in a better position to help and serve others.
2. Limitations- set limitations in all areas of your life so that you can live a well-balanced life.
3. Seasons of Life- root yourself in the "here and now."
4. Reality- embrace the fact that you have the power to change the direction and tempo of your life.

"Work on having yourself centered, but don't be self-centered"
